8D7N Taiwan Trip [Taipei] - DAY I [2013]

Finally got the time and strength to blog about my Taiwan Trip!!

My itinerary was actually quite screwed because of the Typhoon period, many attractions I wanted to visit was closed. [Not too sad 'cause I'm planning to head back Taiwan again next year for a holiday again!] But nonetheless, I managed to visit 90% of the themed cafes I wanted to try out!!

For those who asked about the weather,
It was really rainy for the first 3 days then it became really hot like Singapore's weather.

SO HERE GOES DAY I.

Touched down and got the SIM card with data from the airport (right after you exit the baggage collection area, it's pretty prominent, shouldn't miss it.) and took a Taxi down to my hotel in Ximending, XIMEN STAR INN.

For those who haven't read about my hotel review,

It costed roughly NT1000+ which was SGD42+ BY METER.
And I was so pissed because the driver took a detour, I knew it because I was checking Google Maps and it showed a shorter route he could've took! Tsk.

Moving on,
Checked in and went to Ximending to hunt for food!

So, first meal in Taiwan...
SUPER CHEAP RAMEN

Forgot how much this costed but I vaguely remember that it was less than SGD4.
Ate this because we couldn't get a seat at the BBQ buffet restaurant.

Food was merely acceptable for it's price.

Retro looking Coke bottles!

Headed down to the HOT SPRINGS after at Xin Beitou [新北投]

The Taiwanese really queue for the trains very orderly!!

Le mum and me on the Metro
Ignore the Priority Seat sign! No needy at that point of time!!

Metro rides are really cheap.
I topped a total of like NT500 to last me for the WHOLE entire trip!
Which is like around SGD20+++ only!!

Had to transfer from Taipei Main Station >Beitou > Xin Beitou

Walking towards the hot spring.
Was a 5 mins walk away from the Metro Station only.

Wenquan St., Beitou Dist., Taipei, Taiwan (Neihu District)

And when you see this SPLIT JUNCTION (or whatever it's called)

The left side heading up are the private hot springs where you'll soak in a private tub in a room.
Right side heading down's the public hot springs!! Which cheapo budget me went to! Hahaha

Do take note of the opening hours cause I waited there for 45mins!

But the public hot spring is DAMN SUPER CHEAP.
NT40 [SGD1+] only!!
And the elderlies there told us that the hot spring here is more natural than the private ones cause the hot spring water flow through here first.

Super nice place right!!

There's a LOW, MEDIUM, EXTREME intensity of hotness pool.
And the CHILL COLD pool too!!

Headed over to Danshui Night Market after soaking!
(Really near Beitou)

Super love this brand of Tie Dan!
It's NT100 for one packet, bought like 18 packets, hohoho!

Love these fun games that you could play in Taiwan night markets!
Though the prizes ain't very attractive for some, but it's super fun to play! NT100/game
J and I got addicted to UFO catchers cause it's super cheap there!!

Autumn Festival.
Really beautiful moon that night :)

And I WENT TO CLUB THAT VERY NIGHT at LUXY.
Supposingly the most happening club in Taipei.

This is actually my very super first time clubbing in 22 years of my life.
YES I KNOW, VERY KUKU.
And everyone whom I told don't believe me.

I LOOK VERY GOOD GIRL STAY AT HOME KIND WHATTTT, no?

But anyway, as you see, most of the crowd are like guys.
If not, tourists. I saw a few really hot girls, but they're like rare in the club.
Kind of disappointed, wasn't as happening as I expected.

Entry was like NT800/pax, with 2 free drinks.
Heard from J that it's around the same price as Singapore's club.

And that's all for DAY 1 of my Taiwan Trip.

P.S. I'm missing Taiwan badly already!! TT__TT
