8D7N Solo Taiwan Trip [2017] - OIA Café [Oia伊亞藝術咖啡館]

I guess it's pretty hard to know what's so special about this café based on the café's name, but BEHOLD..cause this is probably one of the most "in" or "popular" cafés that females would definitely want to visit!!

WHY?

Cause there are
ALPACAS
aka. 草泥馬 (sounds like some vulgar hokkien term lol)

For those of you who don't already know what alpacas are, I bet you'd have seen them before as a plush, those that most girls go crazy over. I've pasted a photo below for your reference LOL.

Yes, you didn't read it wrongly.
It's an alpaca café, right in Taipei!!

I repeat,
AN ALPACA CAFÉ IN TAIPEI

OIA Café
(伊亞藝術咖啡館)
252, Taiwan, New Taipei City, Sanzhi District
後厝里北勢子12-1號

Nearest MRT: Danshui Station
Bus: 860; 863; 865
Operating Hours: 1100 - 2000

.............................

So before anything else starts, an obligatory #OOTD shot of the day lol.

Yes, you need to take a bus in from Danshui station
So once you exit Danshui station, just find the bus interchange on the right side and not follow stupid Google map that leads you to some unknown place - that made me waste close to half an hour walking to and fro trying to find the bus!!

So this is what the bus interchange look like, it's pretty easy to spot.

You should alight at the station called "Hou Cuo" (後厝) which would be a few minutes walk away from the café.

But alas, smart me on my earphones and surfing the net on the bus, I alighted 3 stops later LOL
It was a good thing, though. I got to see really pretty sceneries and the walk back was cool and quiet - I just sung aloud, enjoyed the stroll and took some pretty photos along the way.
(No doubt it'll be pretty dangerous if you're alone there at night)

AND FINALLY AFTER CLOSE TO HALF AN HOUR OF STROLL,
I arrived at OIA Café! :)

It should look like this from the outside
(And if you saw this from your bus window, you know you just missed your stop LOL)

It was a pretty cosy (a little squeezy) kind of environment.
And no, there wasn't any weird smells because of the animals.

So basically, there'd only be 1-2 alpacas released into the café where they'd roam around casually
(or wherever the food is, lol)
I guess it's to prevent overcrowding too.

But fret not, cause there's an outdoor area which is kind of like their "stable" where there'll be more alpacas and little goats for you to feed and take pictures of.

Yes, that naughty goat was trying to lick that other goat's ass LOL!!

Didn't try their main course cause I had a heavy lunch so just ordered some desserts.
There is a minimum spending per pax though, but I forgotten how much it is. One dessert/main course should be able to cover that cover charge!

And lastly, to end off the post,

A photo of me trying to feed an alpaca!

I was actually kind of terrified by it because it would just charge to you once you're holding their food!
They're not really aggressive in the way that they'd hurt you but they walk pretty fast and it's a little scary cause it's not really a small pet kind of animal hahaha.

NM's Verdict

Location: ★★☆☆☆
Atmosphere: ★★★★★
Price: ★★★★☆
Food Quality: ★★★★★
Customer Service: ★★★☆☆
Worth the try(?): ★★★★☆

Nonetheless, I'd totally recommend this café for the experience to touch and feed and alpaca.
And also to escape the crowd in Taipei.

Till the next post, ADIOS!

Dec 23, 2016

Merry Christmas & Hello 2017!

So it's finally nearing the end of 2016 and here's the
cliche-obligatory-summary-cum-resolution-making post.

To summarize, I'd say that 2016 has been a pretty fulfilling year for me.

Finally finished paying my study loans, graduated from my degree with pretty good results and found a full time job doing marketing. Though I still have much to learn and explore, I'd say that I'm very fortunate to have many benefactors and mentors in life (esp in this year) to guide me and help me. My family, Mun, my lecturers, my friends, my DNA, my colleagues. I'm sincerely thankful.

..........................

Before I run through my resolutions, I'd like to show you guys the first Christmas present(s) I got for myself in this 25 years of my life - Yay!

PUSHEEN BOX WINTER 2016 EDITION

I was totally judged by my friends (and Mun) for getting a box that costed SGD100 - when I have totally no idea what's gonna to be in it. I do admit it was a 一时冲动 move when I saw this scarf posted by PusheenBox Facebook and went like "OMG, I NEED TO GET THIS", though I don't literally need it. HAHAHA.

PLEASE AGREE WITH ME THAT THIS SCARF IS SO DARN CUTE.

So yeah, I got this box that costed SGD100 (because of shipment that costed USD25) and I was quite afraid I'd regret. But luckily for me, THIS BOX IS THE BEST BOX EVER. I've yet to receive the box but I've been stalking the hashtag on instagram and saw what's in it - I practically love everything in it.

SEE HOW CUTE IT IS?
It's sad that shipment from USA to SG takes 10 working days, so I'll probably receive it before my TW trip (hopefully) instead of for Christmas.

And because I bought a present that didn't arrive by Christmas, it didn't really felt like Christmas.
LOL, I'm kidding. I just needed an excuse to buy another gift for myself HAHAHAHAHAHA.

So here's my other gift to myself -

Yeah, I know it's so not-Noelle-kind-of-thing because it's so girly.
But, I'M A GIRL AFTER ALL RIGHT HAHAHA.

Under the bad influence of 277, I decided to get Thomas Sabo Karma Beads that costed a bomb.

So yeah, it's probably the first bracelet I've gotten for myself and I kinda love being girly suddenly HAHAHAHA - not to mention, I started going mani/pedi lately too. Omg, puberty hit me late lol!

AND FINALLY BACK TO RESOLUTIONS

Let's see the progress of resolutions I made for 2016:

I did blog more, I did pursue my career after graduation, I did adjust my body clock pretty much (not ideal but it was a great shift), I did practice guitar and am more familiarized with the chords (will post a pic of my guitar after my guitar stickers arrive) and I'll be travelling to a new country next year.

So it's like 5/10 - not too bad. HAHAHA.

Here goes my
RESOLUTION(S) FOR 2017:

1. Keep blogging
2. Do new covers - at least 3
3. Be able to perform in guitar + vocals
4. Spend more time with my family and friends
5. Start saving up
6. Start taking vitamins
7. Exercise!!
8. Better time & emotion management

That's all I have for now.

I'm already excited for 2017 with all the travelling plans :]
Stalk my instagram/facebook/blog in 2017, it'll be fun.
