The Awesome One

Dec 21, 2015

Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016!

Hi guys

As usual at this point of the year, here's a cliche post to summarise 2015 and set new goals for 2016!
It'll be a rather length one since I haven't really been blogging this year.

........................

So first, How was 2015?

It was pretty awesome in general.

I'm proud of myself to announce that I have completed 3 of my goals that I've set for 2015 (and actually for 2013 and 2014 too lol). Finally quit procrastinating and worked for something I really wanted in my life. So I'm just gonna share in this post a brief summary of what happened in my 2015!

First and foremost, I finally got a driving licence!!
*Applauses please*

Secondly, I've set a goal in 2014 till 2015 to be more musically involved - Sing more.
And yeah, I kind of increased my amount of singing in this year. Got a few regular gig that happened (some stopped) and more external gigs this year comparatively to how it was in 2013 to 2015 when I started working full time.

Thirdly, I'm rather pleased with myself that I took a step forward to register for a private degree to advance my career path into an industry that I have passion over logic-money-earning like how I did in the past. Though studying and working at the same time is tough (and having some modules that are so horribly taxing), I'm glad that I made this decision for myself.
*A side note along this point, I'M HALF WAY THROUGH MY DEGREE! 9 more months to go!!

Lastly, I'd like to say that 2015 was a really hectic yet fulfilling year for me.

Took up many new job assignments this year that allowed me to meet so many new people, including the many important people who supports me behind the screen. Events that make me feel exhausted as hell after work yet leaving me with contentment. It's really hard to explain. But I'm just glad I made decisions to step out of my comfort zone to strive for the things I want in life. I never thought that I would risk and quit my full time job while I'm studying, to pursue a financially unstable freelance path - just because I felt unhappy being where I was.

Of course, I'd say that I'm blessed, too.
I was fortunate enough to have event jobs popping up consistently.

My only regret for 2015 was not being able to jot down my life journey in this space (or any spaces) of mine. It's a pity because it's part of growing up for me. (Seriously, I only blogged 10 plus posts for the whole year??! And having most of it being adverts. what..)

And this leads to my
Resolutions/goals for 2016!

1. Blog more
2. Start pursuing my career after graduation
3. Attain Class 2b licence
4. Travel to new country(s)
5. Exercise once every week
6. Adjust my body clock to sleep before 1am every night and wake up at 9am by the end of 2016
7. Do more covers - Sing more (before I get back into the workforce)
8. Have better time management
9. Have better guitar skills (at least be familiarised with ALL the chords)
10. Stay positive!

That's all,
Looking forward!

Revive

Disclaimer - Wordy post ahead:

I guess it's about damn time that I updated this space of mine on my life.

As usual, the easy excuse would be saying that I'm crazily busy in life.
So what have I been up to lately?
School, Freelance Work, Teaching, Singing, Rushing Assignments, Catching up with friends.

I'd say that my life is more hectic and worrying now compared to the days I held a full time job, but I never once regretted because I really love what I'm doing right now - considering the fact that I'm still studying part time. It feels like I'm living my life fuller and learning more when I step out of my comfort zone every single time. And I'm still really glad that I went ahead with my decision despite negative feedbacks from my peers.

So anyway, Talk talk from Garena has officially "closed" down - no official sessions, and I'm hesitating to start on foreign platforms mainly due to cashing out issues and uncertainties. I'm really glad I held a DNA outing (picture above) before it closed cause I guess everyone is moving on in life without it. BUT BUT BUT, I will be doing streaming for a short while under Asiasoft soon. So yeah, you guys would get to see me live again - no singing though LOL.

More to the personal side, I'm really happy somehow that I got to be single for a period of time this year. This was the only time I really took a step back to enjoy alone time, catch up with my friends, and realise the importance of a balance between friends and your partner in life. I'm blessed to have friends who would stand by me no matter what happens and are always there to hear me cry and rant about the same thing over and over and over again lol - and doesn't need each other to constantly be in contact to maintain that bond.

I'm just actually really satisfied with life right now.
No, not everything is going smooth-sailing for me. But I've got all I need, and I'm working for what I want. There are days I dwell in bed over how hectic my schedule is, but the rest of the days I literally smile to myself and feel so fortunate and blessed at where I am right now.

No actual reason why I'm typing this post, I guess I just miss jotting my life journey and emotions down on this space of mine just because it became too "public" and unsuitable for too personal emotions and events that are happening.

But along with my Thailand trip in 10 days (9 days cause it's past midnight), I really look forward to taking tons of pictures and blog about my holidays once again - though I haven't finished, and doubt I would, on my Taiwan nor previous Bangkok trip hurhurhur. And I guess, from now till I really found my passion for this space back, I won't be drafting any more advertorials (unless it's really so damn damn damn good or interesting that I really want to share with you guys - pr speech lol)

Okay, time for me to crash.

KFC has launched 2 new bold flavored wings!!
Tangy yet Savoury Umadare VS Sweet and Spicy Yang Yeum

First up, sweet and spicy YANG YEUM!

Yang Yeum is actually korean-inspired and as mentioned, it is sweet AND spicy at the same time.

New Moon Inner Radiance Collagen Powder

Sponsored Advertorial

Want to look young and have radiant skin?

New Moon Inner Radiance Collagen Powder is formulated and manufactured in Japan with high collagen content that nourishes and brightens your skin to have radiant complexion! Not only does this product have anti-aging properties to rejuvenate your skin, it is also low in calories! The Inner Radiance Collagen Powder contains ingredients to aid in moisturising and whitening too, with high collagen dosage of 5460mg!

This collagen pack is super convenient and light!!
(You can't even feel the weight of it being in your bag, lol)

So months back before the product was launched, a few bloggers and I were involved in the R&D process for this product - where we got to choose the packaging, test the product, do a before and after skin analysis.

IT WAS SUPER EMBARRASING that I was one of the younger bloggers but my skin age is....
HORRIBLY 5 YEARS OLDER THAN MY ACTUAL AGE.

So this was the analysis of my skin before and after almost a month of daily consumption.

I consumed only 1 sachet (above packaging amount) of Inner Radiance Collagen powder per day, and after one month of consumption, my skin age dropped to 27! How amazing!
My skin was more replenished with moist, not that I feel the obvious difference physically though.

The results of regular collagen intake should give you :
- Hydrated Skin
- Nourished and Better Skin Conditions From Within (Stimulates your skin to generate collagen naturally)
- Brighter Skin Tone (Radiant Complexion)

What I usually do, is to mix the collagen powder along with Apple Juice or yoghurt drink and slurp it down in the morning before my meals. You can mix it with your favourite drink, warm or cold - but do take note to not mix it with anything too hot cause the Vit C in the collagen will be destroyed at temperature 75˚C and above!

New Moon Inner Radiance Collagen Powder can be found at leading supermarkets, pharmacies, and selected departmental stores at only SGD49.90.

Start your daily consumption of Collagen today!!

My New Gadget - KATA M3

Sponsored Advertorial

Yay to new gadgets!!
(You guys should know how much of a gadget freak I am)

So first and foremost, introducing to you

.
.
.
.
.
.

KATA M3

First question most of you would ask,

What/Who is KATA??!

Kata is a leading smartphone manufacturer in USA specialising in innovative mobile technology to produce high-end mobile devices, designed in USA but assembled in China like other top notch phone brands too!

So firstly, unboxing of the Kata M3!

It comes with the basics;
Earphones; Charger; Phone itself (doh)

And more photos of its sleek outlook:

Charging port located at an awkward left at the bottom of the phone

Speakers at the bottom back

Comparing its' size to my current Note 4
It's almost the same size, if not slightly bigger in terms of phone size.
Display is slightly smaller than the Note 4's 5.7", Kata M3 is only 5.5".

Sleekness
Due to the slight hunch design of the Kata M3,
it feels a little bulkier than my Note 4 by just a tiny bit!

And yes, the Kata M3 runs on the Android Kitkat 4.4 system with a 1.7GHz Octa core CPU
Internal storage of 16GB with external memory card slot, and best part of it, DUAL SIM.
I can't express how important this is for people like me with 2 sim cards (or more when I travel) so phones with dual sim are a natural attraction to me!

I don't really want to harp more on the specs because it is very competitive with the other phones in the current market. You can click here for more specs details : KATA M3 SPECS

So, I had a 2 week hands on with M3 and what do I love about it?
THEIR CAMERA.

I love the quality of their cameras best, especially their front camera and its make up mode!!

You know how some front camera stretches your face and make you look fat or like an alien at certain angle near the edge of the screen??!
KATA M3 does a perfect job at selfies, I SWEAR.

This was a selfie taken with M3 without any edits under pretty poor lighting (in Burger King lol)
with the minimum make up mode!!
(I'll explain why maximum mode is not recommended later on, LOL!)

IT'S SO NICE, RIGHT??!
It's like almost the quality of my TR!

Classroom lighting - Without any edits either!

Other than its' camera, I really love the loudness of it's speakers,
and how awesome the video recording is!!

And yes, this cover was recorded with M3!
(Got make up mode, NO NEED MAKE UP FOR COVERS ANMORE HAHAHHA)

And the best part about M3 is

.
.
.

M3 is retailing at only SGD368!!

Updates in Life

Hello!
(This photo is a major throwback for CNY this year - because I'm too lazy to doll up after CNY.)

I know I haven't been updating my blog much about my personal life because I'm really busy.
So here's an update - for you and for myself to keep track of my life too!

Disclaimer : It'll be a super wordy post.

Okay, so what have I been up to recently?
Actually, nothing much. But yet, a lot of things.

I know I contradict myself but it's true.

..................

So firstly,
What I've been doing nearly everyday for the past 1 year.
(Most frequently asked question)

I've been working full time in a Maritime/Shipping company for the past one year,
holding a job title of "Business Process Management Executive"

For those who're asking - "What do you do in your job?"
Here's a brief summary Google came up with from Wikipedia -

It sounds convincingly interesting and fun, but I guess it's just not my cup of tea after all.

I'm not saying that my company is bad or anything close to that. In fact, my company is great - Great benefits and not mentioning the good pay too. And in fact, I was really honored to be given the chance to travel to Japan twice within this short period that I was attached to them. Things were really challengingly fun when I had projects on hand to work on, the down point is the daily routined job that I felt slightly bored - I'm not excelling in the way I wanted to.

So I guess that sums up my answer to you guys who have been probing into what I'm doing.

And yes, I'm still working with them but I might be finding another job that would be of relevance to my degree - speaking of which I'd talk about next.

..................

I've registered for my Part Time Degree course with Kaplan in Northumbria University -
BA (HONS) Business with Marketing Management

It was a really impulse yet well-made decision to register for it.
I've graduated from Poly for let's say, 4 years? And I've never really wanted to take a degree.
Not that I don't see it as a need, but more of, I don't know what I really wanted to study.

In any ways, Mr Wan just ORD last year end and after his first job, he felt that a degree was needed to for his career. And so, we both impulsively signed up for the course in early Feb and we're starting school at the end of this month. It's really happening too fast, I'm not sure how to react to it. I guess I'm feeling fear more than any other emotions I should, I'm afraid of coping with school work, afraid I can't save enough to pay my school fees (Yes, I'm paying my own fees without any help or support from my parents), afraid I don't do well enough, afraid I fail in other sectors of life. Fear is containing me as the date draws near. I really hope I can pull through this 1.5 years and attain knowledge and good results from it.

..................

Next up would be my external freelance "work".

1. I've taken up the role of Sales/PR for the EOY event this year!
*Pops confetti*

(*P.S. LIKE us on Facebook if you haven't already done so)

It's been one of my dream to be part of a Cosplay event committee, and I'm really thankful for this opportunity given to me. I guess workload isn't as much for now, but I'm already feeling the stress - fear for not being able to perform my roles well enough.

2. Online Streaming -

As usual, I'm still on Garena Talktalk
(Aka GTalk - the one I mention on my FB Page every time)
It hasn't been easy streaming on Talktalk cause - Sorry to say but this is the truth - Most people there support those they deem wooable and it strikes out people who're seeking recognition for talent. Not gonna BM or say anything more here but I really hope my supporters who really support me (and you're reading this) would at least come for my session to listen to me sing.

But anyway, I'm not here to talk about that.

I'VE BROUGHT WITH ME A GOOD NEWS!
(Also a news to why I'm gonna get SO busy)
I will be debuting on a China online platform streaming soon - the previous one got scrapped cause they demanded that I can't stream anywhere else except their platform, which means I would have to give up my Gtalk audiences, which I eventually rejected. So now, I'm soon going to be debuting on another platform that allows me the freedom to still stream at Gtalk :) - I will announce my sessions there once contract is signed and everything is firm.

..................

And last but not least,
I've finally taken up Driving lessons!!

How was it?

It was really frightening for the first few lessons - I took private classes so the first lesson itself was already on the road!! But after 14 lessons now, I guess I can say it's slightly fun and less scary as it was before. What's scaring me now is my TP which will be in April, and I haven't even went into the circuit to do parking yet!! It's freaking the hell out of me because I really don't want to waste time and money to retake my license - I'm starting school end of this month.
AND DRIVING LESSONS ARE SO EXPENSIVE IT BURNT MY WHOLE PANTS AWAY.

That aside, I believe it's a good investment. I just hope I could get it upon my first try!

So yes, this post sums up to why I'm SO busy lately.
I'll try my best to blog/vlog/do covers whenever I can though!

JUST LOOK AT MY CALENDAR. Insane.
(P.S. It's not even April and I'm like almost half packed, tho most of them are due to school)

#okbye, gotta rush out now.

NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant

Sponsored Advertorial

Headed over to Food for Thought a couple of weeks ago for NIVEA's new Deodorant Launch event!

Spot some familiar faces?
HAHAHA. I'm so lucky I met Sochii and Eileen there,
if not the event would have been really awkward for me cause I didn't know anyone else there!

NIVEA has been around for more than 100 years and specialises in skin products ranging from your face, to your body and all the way to even your underarms!

SO today, I'll be blogging about Underarm Skincare.

This is really awkward cause I have NEVER had any conversations with friends/strangers about underarms before, it's like really personal and sensitive. But do you know that, people actually notices your underarms during normal days? (Especially guys, I heard)

Normally, girls would shave/pluck their underarms hair
(If they're not so rich to go through IPL hair removal treatments)
And this actually causes your underarm skin to darken/sag!! - ewww

NIVEA has been the Number 1 Deodorant brand in Singapore for the past 4 years!
And they're best sellers are the whitening deodorants. I've heard from the other girls that used it saying the smell of the deodorants are light and it actually keeps them dry for 48 hours

And now there's the all new
NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant

What's different about this?
It not only has whitening, but also firming ingredients present (Co-enzyme Q10) to firm up saggy underarm skin cause by shaving/plucking. It's all-day anti-perspiration protects you from sweat and odour and could last up to 48 hours against sagginess and darkening.

To be honest, I've never used a deodorant in my life before.
Mainly because I didn't felt a need to - I don't really perspire and I don't have body odour.

But after this event, I've learnt that, deodorants not only help to protect against bacteria in sweat (that causes odour), it could also help to whiten the underarms and firm your underarm skin!

I've personally have started using NIVEA's extra white & firm Q10 Deodorant ever since this event
(Cause there was freebie in the freebie bag heh.)
And I really liked it a lot!! #truestory
It keeps my underarm really refreshed and cool for the whole day and I really see an obvious difference in my underarm skin tone and texture - FOR REAL.

You've to really try it to experience it!

With NIVEA, you don't have to be afraid of posing like Superstars anymore

So are you ready to shine?

This NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant (50ml) is retailing at only $4.90
(And it lasts pretty long, have been using for about a week plus and it still seems full lol)
And it's available at any Watsons, Guardian, Super/Hypermart, and Major retailing stores!

There's the Spray-Deodorant and Roll-On type.
But I've heard from the emcee that the Roll-On type actually allow the skin to absorb better.

More details of NIVEA products can be found on their Facebook page!

The New Peugeot 308 Series

Sponsored Advertorial

Went down to Peugeot showroom at Alexandra Road few weeks back to check out the all new Peugeot 308 Series!!

As most of you know, I've just started on my driving lessons heh.
And getting to go for this event got me really hyped up!!

Look at this black beauty!

Though 308 is a hatchback series, it offers features such as full LED headlights,
which are usually only found in high end cars.
The Peugeot 308 and its design actually won the European's "Car of the Year" in 2014 and was subsequently award the "Most Beautiful Interior" in the UK, which I felt was very deserving for the 308!!

Look at how big this boot is!!
It's by far the biggest boot I've ever seen for a hatchback car!

And the stunning interior with a touch screen that provides Navigation/& plenty of functions!!
The amazing thing about this screen is that it would move up/down accordingly when you adjust the height of the steering wheels, so as to prevent glares/awkward viewing positions. How convenient!

And moving on to the 308 SW
(My preferred choice)

Look at the boot!!
It's slightly bigger than the 308!! It's like SO BIG.

Yes, you can fit like 2 full grown men sitting comfortably at the boot
or maybe even be able to squeeze like 4!

Me trying out the feeling of being in the driver's seat

Noticed anything different about this car?

THIS PANORAMIC GLASS ROOF
It makes the journey much more interesting and bright!!

I thought this was pretty cute, it shows you how many people are on board and if they're wearing a seatbelt, hahaha!

And look at the comfortable seats!!
 RED x BLACK
My dream car seats color!!

More features on the 308 series can be found here
(Shall not make my post too wordy with the features cause there's too many to mention)

And so, we headed out for a test drive!!
(I didn't get to test it because I haven't got my license hurhur)

Look at the awesome view from the panoramic glass roof!!

And I love how convenient they made the GPS directions for the drivers
The directions are also indicated on the screen in front of the steering wheels!!

Side Note:
Their showroom has some "booth" with stores providing free snacks, heh.
Mr Wan and I went over to grab some bites!!

AND I REALLY LOVE THESE CUPCAKES.

Okay, that's all for now!!

Do check Peugeot Showroom out :

305 Alexandra Road
(Really really near IKEA Alexandra)
Singapore 159942

Operating Hours :
Monday to Saturday - 8am to 7pm.
Sunday and Public Holidays - 10am to 7pm.

Bye!
